Opposite Tata Center a big expanse of southeast part of the Maidan is where the Elliot Park is situated. It is built and maintained by the Tata Steel. During his first spell as CM of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee inaugurated the park on 22nd November, 2004.
As the images below indicate the park is well looked after and a favorite place for visitors. In the third image, one can see the distant silhouette of Vidyasagar Setu or the Second Hooghly Bridge.
Its really a well maintained place. An escape from the congested city life, you feel at times that you’ve been transportes to another world. Wish their were more such places without any entry fee!

@Biplab, I’m not sure really. But I guess the opening time ought to be in the morning if not during the whole of daytime, and also in the early evening. Maybe I’ll update on this info if I happen to go there sometime soon.
