It took Big Mac pretty long time to gauge the food-loving mood of the city.
It hemmed and hawed over the city plan, headed presumably by someone who has precious little knowledge about how life is seen in the city.
It launched outlets in every big city in the country, 102 by the latest count, but dithered when the turn came for Kolkata.
But now that its Park Street outlet is recording an average of 5500 footfalls everyday, it’s time it thought to expand the horizon.
Such huge incoming flow is every shopper’s glee, and Big Mac is no exception.
It now hopes to open 3 more city outlets by this yearend, planning to invest Rs.10 crore for them. The initial ones would be large formatted, each sitting around 150 eaters at a time.
Later the plan is to increase the numbers of outlets while cutting down on their size.
Understandably, not all outlets are same. They’ve the varieties depending on size of floor they occupy. They call them High Street, Mall and Drive-Thru.
Lovely names no doubt, and going by its awesome global presence, perhaps its service will be equally lovely.
