For many the term ‘web video’ coincides with their worldview of YouTube, which is now a Google entity. There are of course Google’s own web video, Google Video and also Yahoo Video as well. But YouTube’s soaring popularity has beaten them all.
In recent times, many new sites have barged into the web video space thus enlarging it like never before. Of my likings are MegaVideo and Metacafe, both of which have shot into prominence very fast.
But my preference lies with TheNewsRoom, the Voxant-promoted news video portal. TNR has been spending good amount of money to build an impressive news suppliers’ pool, BBC News being the latest entrant. It already has the Reuters, the Associated Press, and almost every news biggie on the planet.
This means if you’re a TNR subscriber and have their feed displayed at a chosen place of yours, you’ll never be out of any news event happening anywhere (for example, this AP distributed Bin Laden call to the US to convert to Islam).
